Case Study: Keeping Students Safe with BluSKY - A School District’s Emergency Response

Challenges: Kildeer School District’s security team faced a scary reality: their legacy security setup wasn’t keeping up with modern threats. Each school had a patchwork of old cameras, standalone door locks, and an unreliable PA system for emergencies. In a lockdown drill, it took nearly 5 minutes to manually secure all doors and notify staff, which would be far too long in a real crisis. The district’s Security Director, Sam Miranda, put it bluntly: “We had great people, but our tools were outdated.
