How to Associate a BluPOINT Device to a Beacon in BluSKY
Overview
After creating a Beacon in BluSKY and setting up the physical BluPOINT device, the two must be associated to each other for proper functionality. This article shows how to use the BluSKY app to associate a nearby BluPOINT device with a Beacon.
Instructions
- If not already on the mobile device, install the BluSKY app.
- Login to the BluSKY app.
- Select "Reader Management" icon on the landing page:
! 4. Select "Scan for Readers". Nearby available device will appear as results:
! 5. Select the BluPOINT device that will be associated to the Beacon and tap the "Config" button:
! 6. Once the Config page loads for the BluPOINT device, tap on the ! (next to the Name line):
! 7. Select the Beacon tab, and use the Facility dropdown menu to select the Facility that the created Beacon is in. Available Beacons from that Facility will be shown below the dropdown menu:
- Note: Beacons that are already linked to BluPOINT devices will have the name of the tagged device and a blue link icon next to it.
- Tap the Beacon that was created in BluSKY for this BluPOINT device, and specify a tag name for the BluPOINT device. Once done, click the Save button to save your changes.
- In BluSKY, the Beacon's edit page will now have filled in fields based on the associated BluPOINT devices information:
