Edit a Camera

Overview

In this article, we discuss how to make changes to an existing Camera.

Instructions

  1. Log in and navigate to Cameras. Main Menu-> Setup-> Cameras
  2. Use the search feature, then select the entry you wish to edit from the list.
  3. Once selected click the editButtonNoText.png buttonin the bottom left hand corner of the screen.
  4. Use the key below to identify and update any necessary fields.
  • **Note:**If changing the Portal field ensure that any existing Rules are updated as well.
  1. Confirm changes with the saveBtn.png button.

Field Definitions

NameDescription
NameThe name chosen to identify the Camera. Choose descriptive names that allow for easy administration and maintenence.
ModelThe model number assigned to the Camera.
SystemThe System using the Camera.
FacilityThe name of the Facility using the Camera.
DescriptionThis field provides additional information that is related to the Camera.
Serial NumberA unique number assigned to the device by the manufacturer, that is used to identify the specific item.
Camera TypeThis identifies the type of Camera being used.
LoginThe account name used to access the Camera.
PasswordThe password used to access the Camera.
PortalIf used, this will identify the Portal that is being monitored by the Camera. This can be important when creating Video event capture via Rules.
Recording ServerThe name of the recording server that is storing the Video feed.
External Camera IdAdditional information used to identify the Camera outside of BluSKY.
IP AddressAn Internet Protocol address is a numerical label assigned to each device (e.g., computer, printer) participating in a computer network that uses the Internet Protocol for communication.
Subnet MaskA subnet mask is used to break an IP network into logical subdivision.
Default GatewayA default gateway in computer networking is the node that is assumed to know how to forward packets on to other networks.
Public IP AddressA public IP address is a globally routable IP address, meaning that the address is not an address reserved for use in private networks.
Lens InfoInformation on the lens that is beign used by the Camera.
Stream URLThe URL where the stream from the Camera can be viewed.
HResHorizontal Resolution.
VResVertical Resolution.
FpsFrames per second.

Diagonal Support
Ptz EnabledThis field indicated if the Camera has Pan/ Tilt/ Zoom capabilities.
