Control Points

Control Point List

Screen Overview

The Control Point List screen provides a searchable, filterable list of all control points configured in BluSKY (e.g., relay outputs for doors, elevators, strobes, and other devices). It is used to review status, locate specific control points, and launch create/view/edit/delete actions. This screen is typically accessed from Setup.

Usage Instructions & Examples

How to find a control point

  1. Optionally select a System, Controller, or SIO Boards to narrow the scope.
  2. Enter part of the control point name in Search Text.
  3. Leave View = All Active or change it to All/Deleted as needed.
  4. Click Submit. Review Control Point Count, then select the desired row.

How to create a new control point

  1. Click Create.

  3. Save. The new control point appears in the list after Submit.

How to change the default pulse duration

System Behaviors and Edge Cases

  • Filters cascade: Controller options are limited by the selected System; SIO Boards are limited by the selected Controller. Leaving higher-level filters blank widens the results.
  • Selection rules: View and Edit require exactly one selected record; Delete supports multi-select. The selection indicator shows “x/50 selected.”
  • Default Pulse Seconds accepts 0 for continuous/instantaneous commands and large values (e.g., minutes or longer). Very large values may be restricted by site policy.
  • Delete is a soft-delete. Deleted records remain available when View = Deleted and can be restored in Edit.
  • If a control point is referenced by other configurations (e.g., rules, schedules, elevator logic), deleting may be blocked or will trigger a warning.
  • Large result sets are paginated. If no records match, an empty grid displays and Control Point Count shows 0.
  • Expand toggles a larger grid area only; it does not change data or permissions.

Permissions

  • Access to the Control Point List: Global Administrators and Tenant/Site Administrators.
  • Create/Edit control points: users with ManageControlPoints (or equivalent) permission.
  • Delete control points: users with DeleteControlPoints (or equivalent) permission.
  • Read-only access may be granted to Operations or Security roles for viewing and search only.

Linked Workflows

  • SIO Board and Output Channel configuration under hardware setup.
  • Automation/Rule building where control points are triggered by events or schedules.
  • Elevator control configuration (car calls, floor relays).
  • Door and alarm output integrations (lock, strobe, siren control).
  • Control > real-time control panels for operators to pulse/activate outputs.
  • Maps and dashboards where control points are placed for operator interaction.
